Visiting the Church in Sucre

We were missing our family in Christ in Sucre- it had been three years since we went to visit them. A large part of our life is in Sucre with the church. Nicole wanted to see her classmates from kindergarten and church with whom she grew up with until she was four years old. Memories always live in us.

In July we took advantage of Nicole and Caleb's winter vacation from school to go to Sucre. Normally the school gives two weeks of vacation, but due to low temperatures they extend the break for two more weeks. We choose to visit during this time because during the end of the year holidays we will not be traveling and will be staying home.

We had times of communion with people from the church during the week, devotionals at the church building, visits to families in their homes and sharing with brothers and sisters at different times.

The church in Sucre is active! The women meet every week to pray and study. They are working hard for the women's conference which they have every year. The wives of the leaders are in charge of it but try to involve everyone they can. The leaders meet with the men of the church every week to study and pray. They are creating stronger ties with each man and involving everyone in the work. There were between 70-80 people meeting on the two Sundays we were there- people who have been with the church since 2007 and new people we met while we were there.

It is a great blessing to have family in Christ that remains firm in faith and moves forward trusting in God. Their lives encourage us to continue forward in the ministry.

"For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." Philippians 2:13

We also took the kids to the big park in Sucre and the Cretaceous park. The whole family enjoyed the time we spent there.
