I have been evangelizing Juan on the road continuously. I've been showing him Christ using the Bible. He knows a little about the Bible because he attends a church, and he wants to be baptized correctly.
We have talked about various topics and one day we got to touch on a sensitive topic about childhood. We both identify because we have had a similar story- our parents rejected us and we did not have a functional home, only a little attention from our mothers every once in awhile as our grandmothers raised us.
When we were children we thought we were in the world by mistake, that our life had no purpose or meaning. But we see that God is the one who created us in our mother's womb as Psalm 139 tells us. Knowing the word of God gives us meaning and purpose to live.
I invited him to do the 40-day challenge as he studies the book "The Purpose Driven Life". He is doing a lesson every day and I am encouraging him to continue forward to finish it.
Juan lives alone, he is separated from his wife and his adult children who are in Argentina. He supports himself by selling snacks to university students on the sidewalk in front of El Camino.
El Camino (our contact center) is a refuge for him, a place where he can be, listen to the teaching of the word of God and have a small snack.
